The District Council of Cleve is flying the flag for the district this week…literally.
A series of picturesque scenes of Cleve and districts on banners were displayed in Cleve this week, to coincide with the Eyre Peninsula Field Days.
The concept was originally floated by the local Future Directions Group as an initiative to promote the region and present a “welcoming image” to visitors.
Local graphic designer Kelly Morrow of Figtree Designs worked closely with community development officer Pam Chesson to design the banner images taken by local photographers John White, Lesley Pedersen, Kathy Turnbull and staff from the Eyre Peninsula Tribune and council.
Images include: the Darke Range – Darke Peak, Darke Peak Mail Boxes – Darke Peak, Carappee Hill – the highest point on Eyre Peninsula, sheep walking down a rural road, wheat crop with portable silos in the background, the Arno Bay Boardwalk at high tide, Redbanks near Arno Bay, the Arno Bay jetty, Yeldulknie Weir, an old stone house in the Cleve Hills along the scenic route, the Cleve National Trust building and a scenic lookout from the Cleve Hills to the sea.
